The claim that the Proud Boys are anti-immigrant is a common media narrative, but it’s an oversimplification. The Proud Boys are not opposed to immigration itself—they support legal immigration and the assimilation of newcomers into what they view as Western values and traditions. About 1/3 of the Proud Boys are legal immigrants, married to legal immigrants, or come from legal immigrant families.

Radical left groups, including organizations such as the ADL and SPLC, claim that Proud Boys rhetoric and activities reflect anti-immigrant sentiment, citing their association with nationalist views and opposition to illegal immigration. However, their distortions are only to sow division and hate.

However, the Proud Boys welcome members of all races and backgrounds, provided they embrace Western culture and reject political correctness or identity politics. The focus is not race or origin—but cultural alignment.

Who is the Leader of the Proud Boys?

We are Autonomous Proud Boys. Within our autonomous chapters, there is no single leader of the Proud Boys or centralized authority. Each chapter maintains its own local leadership and makes independent decisions. While the Proud Boys organization initially operated with centralized leaders, this structure has not existed for many years. We are joined together by our 12 tenets and Western Chauvinism. A separate group, sometimes referred to as “Federal Proud Boys,” is led by Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, where you will find informants and sex offenders who are banned from our chapters. What is a Western Chauvinist?

A Western chauvinist is someone who unapologetically values and defends the ideals and achievements of Western civilization—such as individual liberty, free speech, and the rule of law—regardless of race or gender. Contrary to common misconceptions, being a Western chauvinist is not rooted in racism or misogyny.

Our seventh tenet, “Anti-Racism,” makes it clear: we reject judging anyone by the color of their skin. Western chauvinism is about culture and shared values—not ethnicity.

Additionally, our eleventh tenet, “Venerating the Housewife,” affirms our deep respect for women and traditional family roles. We honor womanhood, not diminish it.

The media and the rest of the far left only survive by attacking those who stand up for freedom. The Proud Boys will always stand up for freedom. We also protect others who stand up for freedom and are often asked to serve as a defensive line for prayer vigils and other peaceful groups who know they will be attacked by militant Antifa and BLM racist thugs. Thus, the media and the radical left work tirelessly to dox our members and try to get them fired, threaten their families, and try to de-person them. That we have our faces covered is a sad sign of the hatred by the left in our country.

Are You A Violent Gang?

No, the Proud Boys are not a violent gang. That label is misleading and politically motivated. The Proud Boys identify as a pro-Western fraternal organization that believes in defending traditional values—not initiating violence.

We are not a gang, nor do we promote unlawful aggression. While we never start confrontations, we also do not shy away from defending ourselves or others when physically attacked—often by militant Antifa or radical activists. Unfortunately, video clips shared online are frequently edited to exclude the initial provocation or assault, creating a distorted narrative.

The Proud Boys are committed to self-defense and protecting innocent people from political violence. Before believing any viral video, always ask: What happened before the clip began?

Are you White Supremacists?

We are not white supremacists; that’s completely false and a common lie spread by those who oppose freedom. There are Autonomous Proud Boys who are black, white, Asian, Hispanic, and Native American. Please refer to our tenets regarding our strong stance against racism. it is not uncommon to see Proud Boys opposing white supremacists or Nazis in public. Anyone you see who is wearing Proud Boys attire and promoting racism is not an Autonomous Proud Boy and is either an impostor or a member of a federal chapter.

How long does it take to become a Proud Boy
